Just for Today.
Usui's teachings bless us with the concept of living one day at the time. Living up to our highest potential forever seems like a tremendous task. Being the best we can, one day at a time, is possible for us all.
Just for today, I will not anger.
Anger and resentment are always a fearful reaction to circumstances. Anger blocks energy and healing. When we come to the understanding that we do create our own reality, we start to allow ourselves to look within and stop blaming others for what we feel. We realize that we created the situation ourselves and that we are dealing with our own issues.
Just for today, I will not worry.
Worry is a state of stagnation. We are blocking ourselves by worrying about things that may or may not happen to us or to those close to us. Worry shuts the flow of blessings from the Universe. By changing our attitude we can start to look on every event as an opportunity and possibility.
Just for today, I will give thanks for my many blessings.
By putting the daily focus on the positive happenings we open the door to receiving many blessings. Above all, we can begin by being grateful for the gift of life itself. We then extend our gratitude to our parents by honoring that they did the very best they knew at the time in bringing us up. Furthermore, we take our gratitude to all the people who have touched our lives.
Just for today, I will be kind to my neighbor and every living thing.
Bringing peace to all situations and people becomes our mission. Knowing that the way we treat others is the way we treat ourselves - the way we see others is the way we see ourselves. Expressing loving kindness and compassion (not to be confused with sympathy), we become a shining light, and by shining our light, we encourage others to shine their light as well.
